Thomas E.Kramer

Thom is a safety consultant and structural engineer with 30+ years of experience. He is an internationally recognized expert in applying engineering and safety practices to reduce risk for workers at heights. As a dually registered professional engineer and certified safety professional, he specializes in the assessment and design of fall protection systems, as well as fall protection program development and training. Thom serves as the Vice President of Finance for the American Society of Safety Engineers and is most recent past Chair of the ANSI/ASSP Z359 Full Committee, previously chaired three subcommittees (ANSIZ359.1, .6 and .17) and currently participates on three other ANSI standards committees (ANSI/ASSP Z590.3, ANSI/ASSP A10 and ANSI/ALI A14). He also serves as the president of the International Society for Fall Protection. He is widely considered as a thought leader in the fall protection and work at height industry, having given more than 200 technical sessions and workshops on the topic. For his contributions to the safety profession, he received the Edgar Monsanto Queeny Safety Professional of the Year award in 2016.

Thom has presented on the topic of fall protection and safety at international and national conferences in Australia, Brazil, Bahrain, Germany, Finland, Kuwait, Myanmar, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and United Kingdom, including the 2014 World Congress in Germany (presentation) and 2017 World Congress in Singapore (poster sessions).
